GJEPC Seminar Highlights Export Opportunities via IJEX Dubai

GJEPC’s Delhi Regional Office organised a seminar titled “Open Doors to the Middle East Market through GJEPC’s IJEX Dubai Office” on 24 June 2026, providing members with insights into expanding their exports across the GCC region through the India Jewellery Exposition Centre (IJEX) in Dubai.

The seminar aimed to familiarise exporters with the business opportunities available through IJEX Dubai and encourage greater participation in the Council’s initiatives to strengthen India’s presence in the Middle East jewellery market.

Addressing the gathering, Antarpal Singh Sawhney, Regional Chairman – North, GJEPC, urged members to pursue international markets with a long-term vision and sustained commitment. He emphasised that while export opportunities are significant, success depends on perseverance, consistent quality and genuine craftsmanship, which continue to distinguish Indian jewellery in global markets.

Ashish Sakhardande, Head – IJEX, GJEPC, delivered a detailed presentation on the opportunities available to Indian gem and jewellery exporters through the permanent B2B platform. He outlined the IJEX Incubator Mentorship Programme and Familiarisation Programme, explaining their objectives, eligibility criteria, participation process and benefits for exporters seeking to establish a foothold in the GCC market.

Sakhardande also shared insights into market segmentation, consumer preferences, product development strategies and emerging jewellery trends across the region, offering participants a practical understanding of the Middle East’s evolving demand.

The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, during which members sought guidance on hand-carry procedures and market demand for 14K gold jewellery, silver jewellery, nose pins, classic jewellery, lab-grown diamonds and fancy coloured diamonds in Dubai. Sakhardande addressed the queries and shared practical recommendations for exporters.

Sanjay Madaan, Chief Manager, GJEPC, reaffirmed the Delhi Regional Office’s commitment to supporting members in their export growth initiatives. The seminar was attended by 34 members.
