What drew you to jewellery design?
I was always inspired by art and was attracted to diamonds since childhood. My first love for jewellery began when I visited the biggest Cartier store and saw their jewellery.
How has your design philosophy evolved over the years?
My designs have changed according to the consumer demand over the years. Earlier, people preferred big sets which look grand, royal and heavy. Mostly, people invested in jewellery at the time of weddings in the family. I always wanted to create jewellery that one can wear every day. It is important that jewellery enhances my clients’ personalities on a regular basis and not just once a while
What inspires your designs?
Dillano is an Italian word meaning nature. My jewellery designs draw heavily from nature using diamonds, the best gift that the earth has given us.
Tell us about your latest collection.
My latest collection is called Vacay and is apt for those who want to flaunt their jewels on their travels. The 18-karat rose gold and diamond collection has a lot of colour through enamelling like neon, hot pink, blues, white, etc.
Which is your favourite gemstone?
My favourite gemstone is sapphire because I think it gives a very beautiful and elegant look.
What is the current trend?
Consumers have become very practical. They want jewellery that is versatile along with being a good investment purpose. People are buying a lot of big diamonds which can be used by the next generation as well. Lightweight, practical and beautiful jewellery that can be worn on a daily basis is in demand.
How do you manage your time between designing jewellery and running your wedding invitation design company?
I think the best gift I have is the ability to manage my time. I love working and even more so when I am multi-tasking. It gives me a thrill.
You were recently featured in the Times 40 under 40 list for 2022. Could you share your success mantra?
Never get dissuaded by negative comments. Never get swayed by compliments. Success takes immense hard work and time. If you keep giving customers new designs of good quality, they will never stop loving you.
