GJEPC Hosts IGJS Jaipur, a Dazzling and Exclusive Gem & Jewellery Show for International Buyers

The event was inaugurated by the Commissioner of Customs in Jaipur, Mr. Sugrive Meena, who was joined by other esteemed guests such as the Vice Chairman of GJEPC, Mr. Kirit Bhansali, and the Executive Director of GJEPC, Mr. Sabyasachi Ray; Regional Chairman Rajasthan, GJEPC, Nirmal Bardiya; GJEPC COA member Krishna Behari Goyal; Member of Synthetic Stones Panel Badrinarayanan Gupta; Former Chairman, GJEPC Pramod Agrawal; International Exhibition Sub Committee Member Abhisek Sand along with others.IGJS Jaipur has become a leading platform for Indian jewellery manufacturers to showcase their exceptional products to international buyers. It is a curated show that has brought together over 50 participating companies spared over 65 booths, presenting a wide range of product categories including loose colour gemstones & diamonds, studded jewellery and silver jewellery.

    The show caters to the diverse requirements of over 200 international buyers from 30 countries across North America, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Russia, CIS, and Australia. The buyer’s profile includes wholesalers, retail majors, importers-exporters, independent retailers, design houses, jewellery manufacturers and more.

    Mr. Sugrive Meena, Commissioner of Customs, Jaipur said, “Customs are the channel partners for the industry. We are committed to giving you the best of services, so that your time and cost are reduced enabling you to reach to the wider corners of the world. We are committed to give you same day clearances for exports. We are making it so that your cargo doesn’t have to go through Delhi and it can go directly from here. We are considering giving permissions to a new cargo facility at Jaipur port. I am allowing India Post to set up a new Foreign post office (FPO) at SEZ Jaipur to enable shipping of ecommerce or small packets. I will also examine and address the reasons due to which international courier terminal at Jaipur could not kick start despite being notified last year”

    Bhansali further added, “The Indian gem and jewellery industry has been increasingly leveraging the digital space to boost its exports. With the rise of e-commerce and the availability of courier services, the industry has been exploring these digital avenues to supply jewellery to any part of the world. The New FTP launched yesterday by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has raised the value limit for exports through courier from Rs. 5 lakhs to 10 lakhs which is a welcome move for the gem & jewellery sector.”
