CSR Initiatives
KBS Diamonds has been actively participating in various CSR initiatives since 2014 through its CSR arm, KBS Care. Since then, KBS Care has been engaging with different NGOs every year for various social activities from environment sustainability to different types of donations, etc.
Platelets donation drive (2018): KBS Care joined hands with Tata Memorial Hospital for the Platelets Donation Drive campaign for blood and platelets’ donation drive for cancer patients. There was a team of eight doctors from the hospital who gave a meaningful presentation on the importance of platelet donations. KBS employees attended in huge numbers, and 291 of them donated blood.
Shrimad Rajchandra Mission’s ‘Love and Care’ – Supporting the needs of weaker section: It supports and provides basic needs of the economically weaker section of the society, creates awareness for leading active and healthy lifestyle, cleaning of roads and school premises in the rural parts of Maharashtra, animal welfare, etc. Some of the camps/activities that KBS holds along with ‘Love & Care’ has actively contributed for the betterment of the society.
Mega animal camp (2018): Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care’s (SRLC) animal care programme has been treating animals in rural areas at the doorstep of their owners. A periodic medical camp provides an opportunity to get access to relevant treatments and instrumentation from a large number of experts. On 16 December 2018, SRLC organized a mega animal camp at Shrimad Rajchandra Jivamaitridham (SRJ), Dharampur, which provided free medical treatment to animals, especially those belonging to farmers. Around 1,400 animals were treated for cancer, appendix, wounds, artificial legs, etc. Thousands of people from fifty villages along with their animals attended the camp. A team of ninety surgeons and doctors from Gujarat government’s animal husbandry department, Anand and Navsari veterinary colleges along with medical staff of SRJ worked tirelessly to treat the animals. Several dignitaries from the Government of Gujarat were also present at the camp. Lunch for farmers and guests was sponsored by KBS Care.
SRLC announced the setting up of a new animal clinic, Shrimad Rajchandra Pashu Chikitsalayaa dedicated facility within SRJ for providing quality medical care to animals, inauguration of which was done by top donors which included KBS Care.
Contributing towards widow welfare: A woman plays a pivotal role in her family and society at large and their upliftment is the cornerstone for any significant development of society. Ladies in the rural areas who have lost their financial and emotional support due to death of their husbands with many of them not even educated, survival and supporting their family becomes a big challenge. KBS Care has taken a step forward and contributed to supply grains to 110 widows for a full year to support those families.
Mid-day meals for underprivileged children: Recognizing that the early years are vital for the physical and mental development of a child, KBS Care jointly with SRLC took an initiative to provide free meals to the underprivileged children of the tribal area for the entire year. These meals are greatly appreciated by the children, many of whom have to walk a distance of more than 15km to get to their schools from far off villages. This was undertaken in a village near Valsad, Gujarat.
Blood donation drive: KBS Care set up a blood donation drive, jointly with SRLC in 2016.
A Zaroorat – A need (Joy of Giving) (2017): Nothing beats the invaluable joy of making someone happy. KBS Care has given an opportunity to their employees to fulfil their wishes by donating anything (clothes, books, stationery, utensils, toys, etc.) of their choice to tribal kids and youth. It has joined hands with the NGO ‘Green Yatra’ to ensure that this wonderful movement reaches the deserving!
School stationary donation drive (2016): KBS Care has donated 250 school bags and an equal number of shoes to the underprivileged students at a tribal school.
Scholarship to employee’s children (2015): The company provided financial aid to the kids of employees whose salaries were below `15,000.
Tree plantation drive (2014): KBS undertook a tree plantation drive through Green Yatra wherein they planted about 500 saplings in a day.
Sponsoring the construction of a classroom: KBS Care supported the construction of Shrimad Rajchandra Vidyapeeth by sponsoring a classroom.
Supporting the treatment of patients: KBS Care supports the treatment of patients at Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital and have also contributed towards the construction of a new 250-bed multi-speciality charity hospital in south Gujarat.
Besides the above activities, KBS Care has extended their gratitude by way of donations to the following trusts:
Bhansali Trust – Supporting social activities: This is a public charitable Trust registered in Mumbai and has since been carrying out various activities in medical, educational, income generation, de-addiction and other socio-economic fields. The Trust has also carried out various relief projects during natural calamities.
Zaveri Mangalji Vamalshi Dispensary: Zaveri Mangalji Vamalshi Dispensary was established in 1911 for providing healthcare to the needy and poor of Palanpur. People from the nearby areas including the adjoining state of Rajasthan have also been visiting this institute in Palanpur for medical treatment.
Lend-A-Hand India: This initiative is in partnership with non-profit organizations, community groups and local governments to create better access to education, vocational training, career development, employment and entrepreneurial opportunities. The main goal is to help the poor realize their full potential to meet their aspirations for a better life.
Friends of Tribals Society – Working towards upliftment of the underprivileged: It is a non-government and voluntary organization committed towards the upliftment of the underprivileged rural and tribal masses in India.
Amazing Moments in CSR Initiative The most amazing moment was the CSR initiative of ‘Platelet Awareness Drive’ campaign with Tata Memorial Hospital which was organized at the KBS House in October 2018. The platelet drive proved to be a huge success for KBS. It was the first ever initiative from a corporate house for Tata Memorial Hospital, and KBS was awarded a trophy. This is an ongoing activity by KBS due to which the platelet requirement at Tata Memorial has reduced to half.

KBS Creations was awarded in Oct 2018 by Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital for its ceaseless effort for blood and platelet donations drive through ‘Save a Life’ campaign.
