Market Sentiments Are Positive

Amit Kumar Soni, Director, KIK Jewels Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata, shares about the latest collections his company is unveiling at IIJS Premiere.

What does KIK Jewels specialise in?

We are a third-generation manufacturer specialising in handmade exclusive Kolkata jewellery. We have worked hard on the quality of our jewellery and have created a USP in lightweight, innovative, and contemporary designs.

How do you feel about IIJS Premiere returning to Mumbai?

IIJS 2021 in Bengaluru was good for us as we met some new clients who placed orders for our Kolkata handmade antique gold jewellery. However, considering that Mumbai is the original venue for the show and the largest B2B place, we believe we will get good response here as always.

Tell us about the collection you will showcase at IIJS Premiere 2022.

We are launching our ‘Bangadi’ collection, where we will be showcasing a variety of antique finish lightweight designer bangles and bracelets. These bangles will surely compliment a bride on her wedding day.
We will also unveil lightweight antique belt sets, necklaces, maang tikas, rings, and naths to complete the bride’s antique jewellery set.

What are the current market sentiments for jewellery?

Market sentiments continue to remain positive after two years of Covid-19. Also, gold price has stabilised between Rs.50,000 – 53,000 range due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. The upcoming Navratri and winter bridal season surely will generate huge jewellery demand. Apart from the bridal category, there is high demand for lightweight, regular wear gold sets weighing 100 gm to 150 gm, including necklace and bangles. In the diamond jewellery segment, bridal jewellery sets ranging between Rs. 5 lakh and 10 lakh are moving fast.

What are your expectations from IIJS 2022?

We are coming to the show with high, positive expectations based on our preparation and visitor feedback.

What will the second half of 2022 look like?

The second half of 2022 has numerous festivals like Raksha Bandhan, Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, Dussehra, Diwali, winter wedding season and winter holidays. Therefore, there will surely be strong demand for jewellery in all the categories.
