Mr Navrattan Kothari
The KGK Group originated in 1905 when Shri Keshrimalji Kothari began trading Burmese coloured gemstones in Jaipur. His principled and passionate approach is evident today throughout the company. Inspired by his father’s vision, Shri Ghisilalji Kothari helped establish the tradition for innovation and diversity, and led the group’s initial growth and expansion.
The company prospered exponentially and grew into a leading multinational corporation under its third generation leadership. They continue to conduct their business according to the highest principles of faith, respect and integrity that guided their founders.

BMCHRC – Serving cancer patients: Established in 1997, Bhagwan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (BMCHRC) is one of the largest and bestequipped hospitals of its kind in northern India. This state-of-the-art comprehensive cancer treatment centre is fully equipped to extend multi-disciplinary territory cancer care with cutting-edge technology. It serves patients not only within Rajasthan but also from neighbouring states who earlier had no alternative but to go to metro cities for treatment. Mr Navrattan Kothari, as the chairman of the hospital, has been actively involved in upgrading the services as well as facilities. This has effectually assisted in eradicating numerous hassles countered by patients including heavy financial crisis due to high cost of accommodation in distant cities. He also lent hand to the less privileged by not only getting patients treated under BPL category for free up to the extent of 25 per cent, but also offering treatment at an enormously subsidized cost to patients belonging to the weaker strata.
Providing cancer care: In conjunction with the above, the welfare initiatives commenced under the persistent supervision of Mr Kothari truly defines the core objective of the institution, i.e. to selflessly serve mankind. Some of the most recognized initiatives include cancer care. It is an all-women associate body to provide psychological and financial aid to cancer patients and attendants to build their confidence.
Dreamz Foundation – Fulfilling wishes: It is a comprehensive programme to fulfil one wish of a child cancer patient in order to raise joy, boost moral strength and build hope to successfully fight against cancer.
Donate a life: This is an initiative to extend free treatment to children to fight blood cancer.
Surveillance and early detection of breast and cervical cancer: This is a dedicated programme to help women above forty with free annual screening through mammography and pap smear helping detect breast and uterus cancer at an early stage.
Chronic myeloid leukemia: In this scheme, patients are given free consultation and routine blood test, monitoring BCR, ABL test and supply of Imatinib as recommended by the consultant are done for free.
Amazing Moments in CSR Initiative
Over the years, Mr Kothari’s steadfast endeavour to create replicable and scalable models of development through an integrated approach of maximizing societal value for all has flourished inclusively. Some of his most recognized initiatives include:
a) BMCHRC is also active in the education sector and has marked its unmatched presence by introducing the College of Nursing in 2006 with a purpose of moulding qualified aspirants into competent nurses to meet the increasing demand of the healthcare industry. The institute offers Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery, BSc. Nursing and Master’s degree in nursing and takes pride for being the first college to offer MSc. Nursing (Medical Surgical Nursing) programme in Rajasthan. In addition, welfare initiatives commenced by the hospital truly defines the core objective of the institution, i.e. to selflessly serve the mankind and manifests that at BMCHRC ‘Cure is Care’.
b)As the president of Subodh Shiksha Samiti, Mr Kothari has groomed thousands of children in and around the city of Jaipur. The samiti now has 17 institutions ranging from Play Group to MBA and PG colleges for boys and girls imparting education to more than 33,000 students through nearly 900 professionally trained staff. Today, it is a name to reckon with in the field of education.
c) A first of its kind, ‘Jal Mahal’ project stands as a beacon, a brilliant example of how a productive synergy between a progressive public sector and a dynamic private sector can show the way forward. The magical restoration of the dilapidated Jal Mahal in Jaipur is a living testimony to Mr Kothari’s love for the city’s legacy. The emotional connect with Jaipur’s rich heritage prompted him to take up this arduous task. Jal Mahal restoration, today, is an extension of his interest in preserving the heritage infrastructure of the city. It is a tribute to his forefathers who were custodians in the office of the erstwhile Jaipur royalty.
