CSR Initiatives

Samast Mahajan is a non-profit charitable arm of D.G. Exports, active in the field of animal welfare, jivdaya and rural development including rain water harvesting, grassland development and indigenous tree plantation. Being a public charitable Trust since the last 17 years, Samast Mahajan has done exemplary work in providing emergency help and taking care of the needy in case of natural calamities and disasters. Some examples are helping victims of earthquake of Bhuj (2001), Kashmir floods (2014), floods in Uttarakhand, earthquake in Nepal, drought in Maharashtra, etc.

Besides working on animal welfare, Samast Mahajan is also an organization that has always come forward wherever a natural calamity has occurred, be it the floods in Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir, drought in Maharashtra or earthquake in Nepal. Samast Mahajan with the help of volunteers and donors has left no stone unturned to help people who were affected by such disasters.

Jeevdaya: In the field of Jeevdaya, Samast Mahajan has helped build more than 1,000 animal shelters across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Water conservation: Samast Mahajan has worked in more than 250 villages of five talukas for de-silting of lakes, canals and making large reservoirs for sufficient water storage in case of extended dry spells. They have purchased 13 JCBs and poclains for desilting and putting back de-silted earth for fertile use in the farms. In order to be effective, they have taken the help of the government Satellite Data of Central Underground Water (Bhumijal) Board.

Education: They provide full-fledged education facilities and wholesome care for the poor students. The Trust provides financial assistance to several educational institutes to build infrastructure and facilities like library, laboratory, school rooms, etc. They also encourage ancient Gurukul-based education system and support such institutes by way of providing financial and material assistance.

Human Welfare: Established in 1989, Sewadham Ashram is a lifetime shelter and rehabilitation centre providing love, care and compassion for the homeless, helpless, differently abled, mentally ill, dying and destitute people without any discrimination. Presently, the ashram provided selfless services to 500+ suffering residents. They believe in serving the needy as serving them is equal to serving the Almighty. In the aid of Uttarakhand Victims: The people and pilgrims of Uttarakhand witnessed one of the worst natural disasters in history on 16 June 2013. Samast Mahajan took up relief work on an immediate basis to lend a helping hand to the people gripped under severe adversities. The team of Samast Mahajan reached villages that were completely disconnected from the rest of the world for as many as 50 days! The Trust provided all kinds of relief materials to the affected people, including food packets, basic necessity things, quilts and blankets, cash, medicines and medical treatments, mule for farming and so on.

Some of the works Samast Mahajan has already done in the devastated Uttarakhand:

  • 6,100 food packets containing theplas, methi masala, sukhdi, khakharas, chiwda and a bottle of water sent to the state.
  • The state government, impressed by the relief work being done by Samast Mahajan, provided helicopters to the organization for distribution of food packets.
  • Mud and filth got accumulated in 400 houses in the Bairangi camp on the banks of Ganges River. Samast Mahajan adopted 2,000 inhabitants living in 400 houses there. Each of them was provided a kit worth 1,000 containing rice, wheat flour, sugar, cooking oil, pulses and100 in cash. Assistance was also provided to remove mud from the houses.
  • Kits having relief material of more than 23kg were distributed in Badrinath. Some 450 families were selflessly served there. Besides that, all helps were provided to Nepali workers, cleaning staff and others.
  • Two schools were adopted in Badrinath where it also distributed `11,000 to each family to buy mule, an essential animal for farming and transportation.
  • Five villages, viz. Mana, Bamani, Benakuli, Hanuman Chatti and Auth had got completely disconnected from the world for 50 days. Team Samast Mahajan was the first to reach there travelling on a very dangerous route to help the affected ones.
  • Special care was taken of sages, saints and mahants in Badrinath. Also, an entire month’s quota of grains and pulses were donated to Badri Vishal Mandir in Badrinath.
  • Distribution of food materials, blankets, medicines, plastic, etc. was done on continuous basis as per requirement.
  • A 15-member team of veterinary doctors, along with Bhavanbhai (Mumbaiwala), had looked after the livestock in Rudraprayag in Uttarakhand.
  • Shri Dhinoj Tirth Mandal has announced its desire to adopt 50 orphan children with the inspiration of Pujya Acharya Bhagawant Shri Navratnasurishwarji Maharaj Saheb.
  • Twenty-five tents were sent to Uttarakhand.
  • Masks, hand gloves, bleaching powder, gumboots, etc. were also among the materials that were being sent to the state.
  • Made an appeal to the state government to let it adopt ten villages. The organization will take up complete rehabilitation of the adopted villages.
  • Committed to the cause of Uttarakhand victims. It will keep on providing all necessary support to the state until it is completely rehabilitated.
  • An entire month’s grains and pulses were provided to 1,400 families of Chandershwar Nagar village.
  • Help was provided to fifty families in Triyugi Narayan village.
  • Help was provided to 35 families in Toshi village.
