Banarasi Meenakari

Uttar Pradesh

Born in the royal ateliers of Varanasi, Banarasi Meenakari reflects a delicate harmony of metal and enamel — a heritage craft introduced by Persian artisans during the Mughal era.

Known for its gulabi (pink) enamel on a white base, this art form symbolizes purity, grace, and devotion. The motifs — lotus blooms, peacocks, paisleys, and floral vines — embody the cultural elegance of North India.

Odisha Filigree (Tarakasi)

Cuttack

A centuries-old craft from the "Silver City" of Cuttack, Tarakasi is the art of weaving dreams from silver wire.

With unmatched precision, artisans twist and solder fine threads of silver into lace-like patterns inspired by temple architecture, flora, and fauna. This exquisite form, recognized with a GI tag, is not just a craft but a legacy of devotion, grace, and intricate beauty.
